Annual Lake Placid Caladium Festival
The last full weekend of July, each summer, Lake Placid hosts the Caladium Festival. We invite you to attend this fun, small town festival celebrating the beauty of caladiums and the Caladium Capital of the World.
Happiness Farms and the Phypers family join with the Bates family and the Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce in showcasing caladiums and the town of Lake Placid in the three-day event each July. You’ll find caladium bulbs and plants for sale, guided bus tours to the caladium fields, arts and crafts, entertainment, delicious food, an antique car show and so much more.
For the last 20 years, Happiness Farms has donated all of the caladium bulbs that are planted around the town in preparation for the festival. The town and surrounding neighborhoods are made into a beautiful showcase for this spectacular plant. We want visitors to Lake Placid and the Caladium Festival to see that we truly are the Caladium Capital of the World.
Members of the Happiness Farms family along with friends spend the weekend selling bags of caladium bulbs at the festival each year. Proceeds from the bulb sales are donated to the Chamber of Commerce to advertise and fund the festival for the following year.
Members of the family also serve as tour guides on the bus tours each day. We enjoy interacting with the visitors, answering questions and sharing the details of the industry.
If you’re in the area, we would love it if you would join us! Reservations for the bus tours can be made in advance on the Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce website. We highly recommend making reservations, as the tours fill up quickly the weekend of the event.
